A retirement gift is kept, not used up. Every piece is hand-knotted in cotton in Asha village, Chiang Rai, and a name, a date or a department can be worked into it.

For the retiree

The phuang malai is the Thai way of honouring someone at the end of their service. Malai Marigold is named บทใหม่ของชีวิต, a new chapter of life. For a senior figure, the Prestige and Signature garlands carry more weight.

For the whole event

Keychains and coasters from 350 baht, for the guests at a retirement party. Order any quantity, with no minimum.

Ordering

Custom colours, a knotted name and the department badge all take about a month. Civil service retirements fall on 30 September, so orders are best placed in August.
