The Malai Queen Purity is the largest garland we have ever made, and the only one built to be looked at rather than handed over.
In gold and a soft, grounded off-white, the palette of our Malai Princess Purity, it carries the meaning a phuang malai has always carried, at the scale of a piece of furniture. Purity in the off-white, honour and prosperity in the gold.
It was made for a wall, not for a hand. At this scale a phuang malai stops being something you pass to someone and becomes a piece that holds a room, which is why it lives in two places: as Thai home decor, an entrance, a stairwell or a living-room wall, and at a wedding ceremony, behind the couple or at the door where guests are received.
Infuse it with your favourite perfume and it fills the space the way these pieces were always meant to.

- The buyer covers return shipping when the reason for dissatisfaction is not caused by a third party. If the returned item does not arrive in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for the loss in value of the item.

How do you care for a phuang malai?
Caring for your garland is what keeps it beautiful and keeps it looking new for years. A piece this size becomes part of a room, so it deserves attention. Here is how to look after yours properly.
- Handle it gently. Always treat the garland with a light touch. Cotton is delicate and damages easily. Keep handling to a minimum.
- Keep it out of direct sunlight. Direct sun fades cotton, and off-white holds its tone longest away from the sun. Hang it away from a window that catches the full afternoon sun.
- Keep it dry. Damp causes mould and mildew, which damages cotton. Avoid hanging it anywhere with high humidity.
- Dust it regularly. Dust settles on cotton and makes a piece look dull. Brush it lightly with a soft brush or a cloth to lift dust and cobwebs away.
Cared for properly, your garland stays beautiful in its place for many years.

A tribute, more than a gift
Most phuang malai are made to be given. They are placed in someone's hands, worn for an hour, hung on a rear-view mirror or set on an altar. The gesture is the point, and the object is the messenger.
The Malai Queen Purity was made the other way round. At this scale it is not passed from hand to hand: it is installed, and it stays. What it honours is not one person on one day but the craft itself, and the culture that produced it. It is the same knotting, the same proportions and the same meanings, given the size that lets a room take them seriously.
Thai home decor, in a modern interior
Thai interiors have moved toward the international look: pale walls, clean lines, imported furniture. What often goes missing is anything that could only have come from here.
A piece like this answers that without turning a room into a museum. Gold and soft off-white sit in a contemporary interior without fighting it, and the form does the rest. Hang it in an entrance, in a stairwell, above a console, on the wall of a living room or in a hotel lobby, and the room gains the one thing an imported catalogue cannot supply.
