How do you care for a phuang malai?

Caring for your garland is what keeps it beautiful and keeps it looking new for years. A phuang malai is a treasured object in a home or on an altar, so it deserves attention. Here is how to look after yours properly.

  • Handle it gently. Always treat the garland with a light touch. Dried flowers, cotton and soft gemstones are delicate and damage easily. Keep handling to a minimum.
  • Keep it out of direct sunlight. Direct sun dries flowers and fades cotton. Keep your garland somewhere dry and cool.
  • Keep it dry. Damp causes mould and mildew, which damages dried flowers and cotton. Avoid storing the garland anywhere with high humidity.
  • Dust it regularly. Dust and dirt settle on dried flowers, cotton and soft stones and make a piece look dull. Brush it lightly with a soft brush or a cloth to lift dust and cobwebs away.

Cared for properly, your garland becomes a treasured object in your home or on your altar for many years.

The meaning of white in Thai culture

Phuang Malai Purity- พวงมาลัยความบริสุทธิ์ - ของขวัญ VIP -พวงมาลัยวันแม่ e

In Thai culture, colour shapes and expresses spiritual and philosophical belief. White is the colour of awakening and of showing the way to the light. It speaks of the search for wisdom, of flawless purity and of innocence. White is the path of self-awareness, the path that clears away worldly concerns and impurities so the mind can find true peace.

Malai Supreme Purity: a gift for Mother's Day and honoured guests

The Malai Supreme Purity carries some of the deepest meaning of any garland we have ever made. It is a beautiful choice for a Mother's Day gift, expressing a child's wish for their mother to be happy, wise and at peace. It is more than a gift. It is an expression of love, of respect, and of the wish for peace of mind.

Given as a VIP gift, it expresses respect and admiration, and the wish for the recipient to find light and peace of mind. It is well suited to weddings and to those we hold in the highest regard, such as monks.

White: the colour of enlightenment and the Buddha's teaching

The White Lotus history - Macrame by Nicha - Malai Purity- พวงมาลัยความบริสุทธิ์ - ของขวัญ VIP -พวงมาลัยวันแม่

The Buddha's teaching is at the heart of Thai life, and purifying the mind while seeking the light is central to it. As the Buddha said, "No one saves us but ourselves. We ourselves must walk the path." These words speak of taking responsibility for the path we choose and of the search for wisdom, the very meaning held within the colour white.

White represents the philosophy of awakening through mindfulness, self-knowledge and compassion, the core principles of Buddhism. It speaks of moving from ignorance to knowledge, from darkness to light, the road toward spiritual illumination.

Malai Supreme Purity: a symbol of enlightenment and spiritual growth

The Malai Supreme Purity holds the deep meaning of the colour white and the white lotus. Handcrafted with care by Nicha from fine materials only, it stands for purity, serenity and the search for light within.

Giving this garland expresses peace of mind, self-knowledge and the wish for spiritual growth. It invites the person who receives it to seek the way to the light, the path that leads to wisdom and happiness. Sprinkle the sacred perfume, or a favourite scent, over the garland to create a calm, serene atmosphere and deepen its spiritual meaning.

The Malai Supreme Purity is a symbol that invites spiritual fulfilment, a signal pointing toward wisdom, and a bridge toward happiness and light.

This garland stands as a testament to the depth of Thai culture and a path toward self-awareness.
