My name is Willow and I am an Ojibwe Grandma who has been practicing the art of dreamcatcher making for many years. I come from a long line of dream catcher makers and now I have to tell you the story of the search for inner peace.
Understand what it really means to relax. Listen to me kids, relaxing is not about scrolling through social media. Relaxing is a much deeper and more powerful activity.
Our parents taught us the power of self-awareness.
Listen to your body, breathe, dress your eyes or contemplate nature. Your body begins to calm down when you follow these steps. And that's when things start to happen.
Every tribe has a healer, and they are a major part of our society. They soothe our ailments, advise us in our lifestyle habits to balance our body and mind. We can call them coaches as you do in your culture.
On top of that, they are endowed with the greatest wisdom, and always offer us unexpected but meaningful answers. They regularly invite us to close our eyes and listen to ourselves. Relaxation, he says, is the essential medium for self-understanding.
It was then that I discovered this incredible stone: amethyst. This wonderful purple color, synonymous with transition, suggests an invitation to question oneself in order to take a new step in one's life, a new step towards peace and happiness.
So I did what I do best. I incorporated it into my dream catchers to magnify their power and bring an aura of tranquility into our homes. Aren't our homes the best place to develop peace, reflection and self-reflection.
And all of this is the very source of healing. Understanding why we are sick in order to find new ways of living. This is what the Unwind Dreamcatcher encourages me to do.
We are beings in perpetual search of inner peace and this goes through relaxation.
