Christmas Markets in Bangkok 2026: Dates, Venues and What Is Confirmed
Updated October 2026.
Bangkok does Christmas twice. There is the mall version, all white lights and pop music on repeat, and there is the quieter one: community fairs, mulled wine in a plastic cup, a choir, somebody's mum running a cake stall. This guide covers both, plus the churches and the hotel celebrations that fill in the rest of the season.
We are Macrame by Nicha, and we make the handmade cotton Christmas ornaments that a lot of people are actually hunting for when they go to these fairs. Ours are made by Akha women in Asha village, Chiang Rai, and you can order the whole 2026 collection online today rather than waiting for a market weekend that may or may not be confirmed. That is the one Christmas market in Bangkok with a date you can rely on, because it is open now.
The short answer for 2026:
- Expected does not mean invented. Where a fair has run to the same slot for years (the last Saturday of November, for example), we give you the date that pattern points to and tell you how strong the pattern is.
- The season splits into groups. Community association markets, international school fairs, charity fairs, mall displays and the long running outdoor markets that stay up through December. They feel completely different from each other, so pick by mood rather than by date.
- For handmade gifts, the fairs are the fun way and ordering online is the reliable way. We do the second one.
Christmas markets in Bangkok 2026: what is confirmed and what is expected
Most organisers announce from around mid October, so as of October 2026 a few dates are out and the rest are still patterns. We have still given you a date for the patterns that are strong enough to plan around, clearly labelled, with the reasoning attached.
Confirmed means the date is set for 2026. Reported means an events listing carries it but the organiser's own channels do not yet. Expected means we worked it out from how the event has run in previous years.
| Market or fair | Venue | 2026 date | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ploenchit Fair | Bangkok Patana School, Sukhumvit 105 | Sat 21 Nov 2026, 10:00 to 21:00 | Confirmed |
| The Hope Fair, Christmas Edition | 2025 edition: Rembrandt Hotel, Sukhumvit 18 | Thu 26 Nov 2026, 11:00 to 19:00 | Confirmed |
| Macrame by Nicha | Online, delivered nationwide, Bangkok by appointment | Open now, all season | Confirmed, no waiting for a date |
| Wellington Magical Christmas Fayre | Wellington College International Bangkok | Sat 28 Nov 2026 | Expected (last Saturday of November) |
| European Christmas Market (Bangkok Accueil) | Movenpick BDMS, Wireless Road | Sun 29 Nov 2026 | Expected, weak pattern (only one year to go on) |
| ISB Christmas Charity Bazaar | Nichada Club, Pak Kret, Nonthaburi | A Saturday, mid to late November | Expected, no reliable recent date |
| SILC Charity Christmas Bazaar | Bangkok Patana School | Thu 12 Nov 2026, 08:00 to 15:30 | Reported by an events listing, not yet on SILC's own channels |
| Harrow family fair | Harrow International School Bangkok | Sat 21 Nov 2026 | Date confirmed, public access not yet confirmed |
| Danish Christmas Bazaar | Gaysorn Urban Resort (19th floor in 2025) | Sat 5 Dec 2026, 11:00 to 18:00 | Confirmed |
| Onederous Christmas Market by Baan Lae Suan | Boulevard of Starlight, One Bangkok | Roughly 5 to 28 Dec, 15:00 to 22:00 | Expected (season confirmed, market dates not announced) |
| Neilson Hays Library Christmas event | Neilson Hays Library, Surawong | Late Nov to early Dec, ticketed | Expected |
| Bangkok Uncovered and Beyond | The Sukhothai Bangkok, Sathorn | Late December, after Christmas | Expected |
| German Christmas Market | Goethe-Institut Thailand, Sathorn Soi 1 | Not held in 2026 | Cancelled 2026 |
A note on the international school fairs. ISB, SILC and Harrow all run a bazaar or family fair most years, but only some of their 2026 details are out. Harrow's date is set with public access still unconfirmed, SILC's date comes from an events listing, and ISB has nothing out yet, so for all three we would check the school's own channels.
The Christmas markets in Bangkok, one by one
1. Ploenchit Fair, the closest thing to a British Christmas fair

- 2026 date: Saturday 21 November 2026, 10:00 to 21:00. Confirmed.
- Venue: Bangkok Patana School, Sukhumvit 105.
- Organiser: BCTFN, the British Community in Thailand Foundation for the Needy.
- Tickets: 2026 prices not published yet. Last year it was THB 300 for adults and THB 150 for children under 12.
- Last edition: 22 November 2025.
This is the big one. It pulls the largest single day crowd of the season, expat and Thai families together, and it runs from mid morning until nine at night, which means you get the daytime fair and the evening version in one visit. Rides and games for children, food and drink stalls, live entertainment, shopping, and proceeds going to the foundation's charitable work.
Practical advice that has not changed in years: arrive early or arrive late, because the middle of the afternoon is when the queues form.
2. The German Christmas Market, Goethe-Institut
- 2026 date: cancelled. The market is not held in 2026.
- Venue: Goethe-Institut Thailand, Sathorn Soi 1.
- Organisers: the Goethe-Institut together with the Thai-German Cultural Foundation (TDKS). It is not a Goethe-Institut event alone, which is worth knowing if you go looking for announcements.
- Admission: this is a paid event, not a free one. In 2025 it was THB 100 for adults and children over 12, or THB 120 for one adult with up to five children under 12. Earlier versions of this guide implied free entry, which was wrong.
- Recent editions: 9 to 10 December 2023, 7 to 8 December 2024, and 29 to 30 November 2025 (12:00 to 22:00, with more than 50 booths).
For years this was the one we told people to pick if they could only pick one: a big crowd, real Glühwein, and the closest thing Bangkok had to a proper European market square in December.
The German Christmas Market is not held in 2026. It has been cancelled this year, so there is no date to plan around.
If you were counting on it, the nearest equivalents are the European Christmas Market run by Bangkok Accueil at Movenpick BDMS and the Danish Christmas Bazaar at Gaysorn Urban Resort, both further down this list.
3. Macrame by Nicha, the online Christmas market

One disclosure, since we are the ones who wrote this guide: we sell handmade Christmas ornaments, so we have skin in the game. We have still listed everyone else honestly, including the fairs we are not at.
Our 2026 Thai Christmas collection runs to over 100 designs, all handmade in cotton by Akha women in Asha village, Mae Yao district, Chiang Rai, through our Akha Ma-De programme. Ornaments sit between THB 159 and THB 269, with a few larger pieces above that band. There are gift sets too (8 pieces at THB 1,472, 14 pieces at THB 2,596, and a 55 piece set at THB 10,225) and table pieces such as coasters and napkin rings at THB 490 a pair, which are usually what hotels and restaurants ask us about.
If you want to work out what counts as genuinely handmade before you spend anything, we set out the tests in our guide to handmade Christmas ornaments and who actually makes them.
Are we at a fair this year? Nothing is booked for 2026 as we write this. We are online, and available by appointment in Bangkok on weekdays or by video call, with the details on our Christmas ornaments page. If a fair is confirmed, we will say so here.
4. The Hope Fair, Christmas Edition
- 2026 date: Thursday 26 November 2026, 11:00 to 19:00. Confirmed.
- Venue: not announced for 2026. The 2025 Christmas edition was at the Rembrandt Hotel, Sukhumvit 18.
- Last edition: Wednesday 26 November 2025, 11:00 to 19:00, free entry.
Our favourite of the indoor fairs, and the one we would send you to if you specifically want to buy from makers rather than resellers. The 2025 edition brought together over 100 artisans, entrepreneurs, charities and food makers, with a stated focus on fair trade, artisanal and eco friendly goods, and proceeds going to the Mercy Centre. Past editions have included a carol performance by children from the Mercy Centre and a Santa doing the rounds in the afternoon.
It is air conditioned, which in Bangkok in November is not a small thing. Note that it is a weekday event, so plan a long lunch. The Hope Fair also runs editions outside the Christmas season.
5. European Christmas Market, by Bangkok Accueil

- 2026 date: Sunday 29 November 2026. Expected, but treat this one as a soft guess: we only have one previous edition to reason from.
- Venue: Movenpick BDMS, Wireless Road.
- Organiser: Bangkok Accueil, the French community association.
- Admission: free, according to the organiser's own listing. You may see a THB 1,000 figure quoted elsewhere. That looks like a hotel brunch package rather than market entry.
- Last edition: Sunday 30 November 2025, 10:00 to 17:00, with more than 40 exhibitors.
A proper family programme and the most continental atmosphere on the list. Expect a Christmas tree with gifts collected for children in need, Santa doing his rounds, activities for the kids, live music, and the kind of food stalls that make you sentimental about a hometown you may not have seen in December for a while.
One point of confusion worth clearing up: the French community has historically run two separate Christmas events in Bangkok, one by Bangkok Accueil at Movenpick and a smaller one by the Alliance Francaise on Wireless Road. They are not the same event. We could not find any documented Alliance Francaise Christmas market since 2020, so we cannot confirm it still runs, and we are only mentioning it so you do not go looking for the Movenpick market at the wrong address.
6. Wellington College Magical Christmas Fayre
- 2026 date: Saturday 28 November 2026. Expected, following the last Saturday of November pattern.
- Venue: Wellington College International Bangkok.
- Admission: ticketed. Entry was THB 600 in 2025, with an early bird price of THB 500. No 2026 pricing published yet.
- Last edition: Saturday 29 November 2025, 15:00 to 22:00, with more than 80 stalls.
The biggest of the international school fairs, and the one that most feels like an evening out rather than a school fete: food, drink and holiday merchandise across the stalls, plus a long list of games and activities spread around the campus. It starts mid afternoon and runs into the night, which makes it the best of the school fairs for anyone without children in tow.
7. ISB Christmas Charity Bazaar
- 2026 date: a Saturday in mid to late November. Expected, but we have no reliable recent date. The last one confirmed by the school itself was Saturday 16 November 2024.
- Venue: Nichada Club, in the Nichada Thani community, Pak Kret, Nonthaburi.
Co organised by International School Bangkok parents, the Health Support Foundation and local volunteers, with proceeds going to charitable projects. It is the community bazaar of the group: more than 65 vendor booths of gifts, crafts and holiday food, plus bake sales. Worth the trip north if you are already on that side of the river, less so as a special journey.
8. SILC Charity Christmas Bazaar
- 2026 date: Thursday 12 November 2026, 08:00 to 15:30. Reported by an events listing, not yet on SILC's own channels.
- Venue: Bangkok Patana School.
- Last edition: Tuesday 11 November 2025, 08:00 to 15:30. Worth flagging that this is a weekday daytime event, which earlier versions of this guide got wrong.
Run by the Samutprakarn International Ladies Club, and a genuinely pleasant morning: a good spread of vendors, plenty of cakes, drinks and lunch boxes, music, and a friendly, unhurried atmosphere. Perfect if your weekdays are flexible, impossible if they are not.
9. Harrow International School family fair
- 2026 date: Saturday 21 November 2026, the same day as Ploenchit Fair.
- Public access: not confirmed yet.
- Venue: Harrow International School Bangkok.
Harrow runs a family fair organised by Friends of Harrow, made up of parents, staff and students, as one of the school's fundraisers: student performances, a raffle, games and food stalls. Whether it is open to the public this year is not confirmed yet, so check with the school before you plan a visit.
10. Danish Christmas Bazaar
- 2026 date: Saturday 5 December 2026, 11:00 to 18:00. Confirmed.
- Venue: Gaysorn Urban Resort (19th floor in 2025).
- Organisers: the Danish Women's Network and the Danish Church.
- Admission: free at the 2025 edition.
- Last edition: Saturday 6 December 2025, 11:00 to 18:00, with Santa arriving around 15:00.
The hygge one. It is smaller than the school fairs and better for it: Danish Christmas food and snacks, raffles, children's activities, and, at the 2025 edition, a view over the city from the 19th floor. If you want an afternoon that feels like a Christmas gathering rather than a shopping event, this is the pick. Dates and vendor sign ups have historically appeared on their social channels around September.
11. Onederous Christmas Market by Baan Lae Suan, One Bangkok
- 2026 date: roughly 5 to 28 December, 15:00 to 22:00. Expected, based on last season's run.
- 2026 status: One Bangkok has confirmed Onederous Christmas 2026, themed "A Onederous Voyage". Dates and the market are not announced yet.
- Venue: Boulevard of Starlight, One Bangkok.
By run length this is the biggest genuine outdoor Christmas market in Bangkok, and somehow it is the one most guides skip, including earlier versions of ours. It runs for most of December rather than for a single day, it is outdoors in the evening when the weather finally makes sense, and it sits underneath One Bangkok's seasonal display, so you get the market and the lights in the same trip. If you cannot make Ploenchit, make it this.
12. Neilson Hays Library Christmas event
- 2026 date: not announced yet. Expected late November to early December, going by 2025.
- Venue: Neilson Hays Library, Surawong.
Ticketed Christmas events in one of the loveliest buildings in Bangkok, and the sort of thing almost no guide bothers to list. Small, atmospheric, bookish, and completely different from a school field full of bouncy castles. In 2025 the library ran a children's Christmas concert on 29 to 30 November (THB 500 to 900) and a Christmas party on 6 December (free for members, THB 300 otherwise).
13. Bangkok Uncovered and Beyond, at The Sukhothai
- 2026 date: late December, after Christmas. Expected.
- Venue: The Sukhothai Bangkok, Sathorn.
- Last edition: 27 to 28 December 2025, 14:00 to 21:00, free entry.
The hotel turns its garden into a market with a calm, family friendly feel: room to breathe, space for children to run around, and part of the proceeds supporting traditional communities in Bangkok. Note the timing, because we got this wrong before. It runs after Christmas, not before it, so treat it as a lovely afternoon out rather than a place to solve your gift list.
Christmas displays at Bangkok malls, and when they switch on
Not markets in the community sense, but this is where most of Bangkok actually experiences Christmas, and the displays are free. Malls announce their seasons late, usually from the end of October into mid November, so apart from One Bangkok, which has confirmed its season without dates, nothing below is confirmed for 2026 yet. What is useful is the pattern: each venue switches on within a few days of the same point every year, and Bangkok's Christmas lights go up much earlier and come down much later than they do in Europe.
One naming quirk that catches people out. Thai malls brand the campaign with the year it finishes in rather than the year it starts. "Disney The Magical Stars 2026" at CentralWorld and "Siam Paragon The Magical Celebration 2026" were both the 2025 season.
So when this year's campaigns are announced, expect to see "2027" in most of the names. The exception is One Bangkok, which names its season after the current year (Onederous Christmas 2026, themed "A Onederous Voyage"); only its countdown carries 2027. If you are searching for any other mall's campaign by name, search the following year.
| Venue | Last season's run | Pattern |
|---|---|---|
| The Mall Bangkapi | 6 Nov to 11 Jan | Earliest switch on in the city |
| Central Embassy | 13 Nov to 4 Jan | Mid November |
| CentralWorld | 14 Nov to 6 Jan | Second week of November to the first week of January |
| One Bangkok | 14 Nov to 4 Jan | Mid November |
| Siam Paragon | 17 Nov to 15 Jan | Mid November, and runs the latest of any venue |
| ICONSIAM | 19 Nov to 25 Dec, plus a countdown 27 to 31 Dec | Mid to late November |
| EM District | 20 Nov to 5 Jan | Third week of November |
| Terminal 21 Asok | 2 Dec to 4 Jan | Starts in December, later than everyone else |
CentralWorld

The largest festive production in the city, built around an enormous tree in the outdoor square, a themed light installation, live shows and a switch on night that unofficially starts the season in Bangkok. The theme changes every year and is usually revealed a few weeks beforehand. Last season it ran from 14 November to 6 January under a Disney theme, and the year before that the centrepiece was a 40 metre art toy tree. Go on a weekday evening if you want photographs without three thousand people in them.
ICONSIAM
A completely different mood: elegant, riverside, calm. The River Park hosts the tree, which stood 20 metres last season, alongside small artisan booths, local snacks, cultural performances and beautifully arranged lights. Last season ran 19 November to 25 December, with the river countdown following from 27 to 31 December. Go at sunset, when the water picks up the reflections and the skyline becomes part of the display.
One Bangkok
The newest major venue on the circuit and now the one most city guides name first, built around a very large Christmas tree as the centrepiece of a seasonal display that has run from mid November into early January. Last season's edition was called Onederous Christmas, with an Enchanted Pagoda tree, and it is also home to the Baan Lae Suan market listed above, which makes it the strongest single stop of the season: lights and an actual market in the same place.
Siam Paragon
Mid November start and the longest run in the city, going well into January. If you are in Bangkok in the second week of January and want to see Christmas lights that have not already been taken down, this is where they still are.
Central Embassy
Mid November to early January, and worth singling out because its season has included The Greatest Gift Market, an actual shoppable market rather than just a display. Smaller and more design led than the CentralWorld spectacle.
EM District: EmSphere, Emporium and EmQuartier
A Winter Wonderland season running from the third week of November into early January. The three malls have recently kept things more low key than in past years, with decorated atriums rather than large outdoor markets. Still worth a stop at the BTrend floor, which turns into a seasonal pop up zone with tree decorations, gift sets, wrapping supplies, stationery and small handmade ornaments. Good for last minute gifting if you prefer indoor, organised shopping.
Terminal 21 Asok, and MBK
Terminal 21 runs a recurring Christmas Express season that fits the mall's travel theme, and it starts noticeably later than everyone else, typically the first days of December and through to early January. Handy to know if you arrive in late November and wonder why this one looks bare. MBK sometimes runs casual holiday markets in the main hall and walkways, with small Thai vendors, snacks and affordable gift items: more local, more laid back, and where the unexpected finds are.
Which church for Christmas Eve in Bangkok
If what you actually want is midnight Mass rather than a market, Bangkok has real choice, and the churches differ more than you would expect. Some are solemn and formal, some are all about the choir, some feel like a village gathering. Note that most publish their Christmas timetable only in December, so confirm before you travel across town.
Holy Redeemer Church, Ruam Rudi

Roman Catholic. Thai style architecture, warm community spirit, and by far the most English language provision in the city.
- Address: 123/19 Soi Ruam Rudi, Pathum Wan 10330. BTS Phloen Chit, exit 4.
- Regular English mass: Saturday 17:30. Sunday 08:30, 09:45, 11:00 and 17:30. Daily 07:00, 08:00 and 17:30.
- Christmas Eve, 24 December, in English: 17:30 and 23:00.
- Christmas Day, 25 December, in English: 09:45, 11:00 and 17:30.
Those Christmas times are the ones published for a previous year, so verify them for 2026 before you set out. They are a reliable guide to the shape of the day rather than a guarantee.
The church itself is one of the most unusual in the city: a red gabled roof and teak structure built in the style of a northern Thai temple, running a Catholic liturgy. The congregation is a genuine mix of Thai, Filipino and expat families, and the parish usually hosts a small Christmas fair in the days before Christmas. Pick it if you want something spiritual, simple and warm rather than overwhelming, and it is the obvious first choice if you need the service to be in English.
Assumption Cathedral, Bang Rak
Roman Catholic. Grand, formal, historic.
- Address: 57 Oriental Avenue, Bang Rak 10500.
- Regular English mass: Sundays at 10:00.
- Christmas: Midnight Mass with choir. Times are not published in advance, so call the parish on +66 2 234 8556.
The seat of the Catholic faith in Thailand, red brick Gothic, with a soaring interior. Christmas Eve here is solemn and majestic: choir performances, candlelight, the full liturgical ceremony. Pick it if you want a traditional midnight Mass, or if you want to feel part of a centuries old Christian tradition in Thailand.
Christ Church Bangkok, Convent Road
Anglican and Episcopalian. The obvious answer if you are not Catholic and want a service in English.
- Address: 11 Convent Road, Silom.
- Services: in English and Thai.
More than a century old, and somehow left off almost every Bangkok Christmas guide, including previous versions of ours. If your idea of Christmas Eve is carols rather than a Catholic Mass, this is where to go. Christmas timings are not published far ahead, so check with the church in December.
Holy Rosary Church (Kalawar), Talat Noi
Roman Catholic. Romantic, riverside, soft.
- Address: 1318 Yotha Road, Talat Noi, Samphanthawong 10100.
Built by the Portuguese community after the fall of Ayutthaya and one of the oldest churches in the city, with delicate stained glass and gentle lighting. The atmosphere is contemplative rather than grand, and it is a beautiful place for quiet prayer during the candlelit hymns. English language services are not documented here, so treat it as an atmosphere choice rather than a language one.
Santa Cruz Church, Kudi Chin, Thonburi
Catholic. Community based, historic, village feeling.
- Address: near Wat Kanlaya, Thonburi, on the west bank of the Chao Phraya.
At the heart of the Kudi Chin Portuguese Thai community, where Christianity has been part of daily life for more than 250 years. The whole area feels like a small village tucked inside Bangkok, and getting there by river ferry is half the experience. Expect a local, intimate celebration rather than a spectacle.
Saint Francis Xavier Church, Samsen
Gothic style. Lively parish, strong choir.
- Address: Soi Mitrakham, Samsen, Dusit.
A riverside church with a large, energetic community including many Thai Chinese Christian families. The choir is the highlight of Christmas services here. Pick it if you want a joyful celebration with children and families and beautiful, heartfelt singing.
Hotel Christmas celebrations in Bangkok
Worth knowing about if the markets do not line up with your calendar. A lot of Bangkok's hotels run their own Christmas programmes: children's choirs, festive buffets, tree lighting evenings, Santa appearing under some fairly spectacular decorations, and proceeds often going to local charities. Venues that regularly do this well include The Peninsula, Kimpton Maa-Lai, Park Hyatt, The Sukhothai and The Athenee Hotel.
These rarely get promoted far in advance, and almost never on the big event listings. A phone call or an email to the hotel in early December is genuinely the most reliable way to find out what is on.
If you run one of these venues and you are looking at table gifts, welcome pieces or turndown ornaments rather than another supplier catalogue, that is a conversation we would enjoy having.
If you cannot get to a market, here is where to buy instead
The markets are a handful of dates a year, and they always seem to fall on the one Saturday you already had something on. If you miss them, Bangkok still has plenty of options, from wholesale tinsel by the box in Chinatown to design led pieces on the lifestyle floors of the big malls. We mapped out 20 of them, with what each one actually sells and roughly what you will pay, in our guide to where to buy Christmas ornaments in Bangkok and across Thailand.
And once the box of decorations is home, the order you hang things in matters more than what you bought. We walk through that in our Christmas tree decorating ideas.
FAQ: Christmas markets and festive fairs in Bangkok
Which 2026 Christmas dates in Bangkok are actually confirmed?
Three so far: Ploenchit Fair on Saturday 21 November, The Hope Fair Christmas Edition on Thursday 26 November and the Danish Christmas Bazaar on Saturday 5 December 2026. Harrow's family fair is set for 21 November with public access not yet confirmed, and SILC's bazaar is reported for Thursday 12 November by an events listing. Every other date in this guide is an expected date worked out from how the event has run in previous years, and we label it as such each time.
When is Ploenchit Fair 2026?
Saturday 21 November 2026, 10:00 to 21:00, at Bangkok Patana School on Sukhumvit 105. It is organised by BCTFN, the British Community in Thailand Foundation for the Needy.
When are the rest of the 2026 dates announced?
Most organisers publish from around mid October, with vendor sign ups often opening in September. Malls tend to announce from late October into mid November. If you are planning ahead now, use the expected dates in the table above and confirm closer to the time.
Why do Bangkok mall Christmas campaigns have next year in the name?
Because Thai malls brand the campaign with the year it finishes in rather than the year it starts. "Disney The Magical Stars 2026" and "Siam Paragon The Magical Celebration 2026" were both the 2025 Christmas season, so most campaigns launching in November 2026 will likely carry "2027" in their names, and if you are searching for one by name, search the following year. One Bangkok is the exception: it names its season after the current year (Onederous Christmas 2026), and only its countdown carries 2027.
Are there real European style Christmas markets in Bangkok?
Yes, run by the expat community associations rather than by the city. The European Christmas Market organised by Bangkok Accueil at Movenpick BDMS and the Danish Christmas Bazaar at Gaysorn Urban Resort both recreate a traditional European feel, with festive food, live music and handmade gifts.
Which Christmas markets in Bangkok are best with children?
Ploenchit Fair is the strongest all round choice: rides, games, Father Christmas and a full day of it. The Bangkok Accueil European Christmas Market and the Danish Christmas Bazaar both run children's activities and Santa visits, the Baan Lae Suan market at One Bangkok gives you lights and a market in one evening, and the international school fairs are built around families by definition.
Do Bangkok Christmas markets charge an entry fee?
It varies, and it is worth checking rather than assuming. The Bangkok Accueil market, The Hope Fair, the Danish Christmas Bazaar and the Sukhothai garden market were all free at their last editions. The German Christmas Market charged THB 100 to 120 in 2025, Wellington charged THB 600 with an early bird price of THB 500, the Neilson Hays Library charged THB 500 to 900 for its 2025 children's Christmas concert, and mall displays are free.
Is any Christmas market in Bangkok open on Christmas Day?
Likely yes, at One Bangkok: its Christmas market ran from 5 to 28 December in 2025, Christmas Day included, and is expected to run through Christmas again, though 2026 dates are not announced yet. The Sukhothai's garden market runs after Christmas rather than before it, in the last days of December (27 to 28 December in 2025).
Which churches in Bangkok hold Christmas services in English?
Holy Redeemer on Soi Ruam Rudi has the most extensive English provision, with Christmas Eve English masses at 17:30 and 23:00 and Christmas Day at 09:45, 11:00 and 17:30 in a previous year. Assumption Cathedral in Bang Rak holds an English mass on Sundays at 10:00 and a Midnight Mass with choir. Christ Church Bangkok on Convent Road is Anglican and Episcopalian, with services in English and Thai. Confirm 2026 timings with each church in December.
Where can I buy handmade Christmas ornaments in Bangkok?
At the seasonal fairs if the dates work for you, and online the rest of the time. Bangkok has no permanent handmade ornament shop, so handmade generally means ordering ahead or catching a fair. Our own cotton ornaments are made by Akha women in Chiang Rai and run from THB 159 to THB 269, available online with appointments in Bangkok on weekdays.
One last thought
Christmas in Bangkok is a strange, lovely mix: a giant tree in a shopping district, a choir in a teak church, mulled wine at 30 degrees, and a school field full of families who have all ended up a long way from wherever they grew up. Whichever version you go for, the point is the same one it has always been, which is being in a room with people you like.
We will keep this guide updated as the 2026 dates get confirmed, and move each row from Expected to Confirmed as it lands. If you spot something we have wrong or a fair we have missed, tell us and we will fix it.
And if you would rather not leave your gifts to a Saturday in November, send us your list and we will put a catalogue and a price in front of you.
