10 Vintage Christmas Cartoons with Sharp Picture and Sound

Why do we call 2D cartoons the height of the classics? Back then, kids could only watch cartoons at set times, on TV schedules or on video, so cartoon time was a golden moment.

That is why the stories are simple, direct and fun. For the 10 picks below, we chose versions with sharp picture and sound, each with a video you can play right away.

  1. The Night Before Christmas 1968

The Night Before Christmas 1968: the year tells you straight away this is the original version. It is praised as the most classic Christmas cartoon of all.

The English is easy, and most of the story is clear just from watching the pictures move, with lovely songs along the way. It tells of the night before Christmas, when Santa visits the homes of good children and brings gifts down the chimney.

Main characters: Santa Claus, his reindeer and the Little Mouse. Fun for the whole family, guaranteed.

  1. Doraemon

Meet the Classic 2D Cartoons from Walt Disney

Kids surely know the hit cartoons from Walt Disney, like Frozen, Finding Nemo, Up and Toy Story. But go back about 30 years, and the studio also made hand-drawn 2D cartoons that kids are sure to know well.

Disney started with short cartoons, and created its first easy-to-remember character, Mickey Mouse, in 1928. As a short, it did not earn the studio much.

Later, the studio moved to longer films with Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, first shown in 1937. It earned the studio a fortune, and Disney has kept making feature-length cartoons ever since.

Now the kids know all 10 Christmas cartoons, plus a few fun facts. This Christmas, pick your favourites and watch them together, fun for the whole family guaranteed.
