Its structure is a single straight line rather than a complex frame, which is exactly what you would expect of the form everything else grew out of.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe name comes from what it was made for. Beyond hanging in a doorway or a window, the elephant net was \u003cstrong\u003elaid over the forehead of an important elephant during the ceremonies held in its honour\u003c\/strong\u003e, the rites of presenting or celebrating a royal elephant. Strung on its frame, the flowers form a triangular net, the shape that sits across an elephant's brow.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTraditionally it is worked in jasmine, dok rak, rose and champaka.
